"Seeing all the cheerleaders and football players with tears in their eyes demonstrated how much we all love our teams and coaches. Walking down the aisle surrounded by my family and teammates was bittersweet and made me want to cherish the rest of senior year."As the game began, the Samo defense displayed its discipline and persistence against the Monarchs, only allowing one touchdown."My defense is always put in a bad situation," Clark said. "They come out fighting."The stands were filled with Samo supporters, many of whom only come out for this one game per year."Going to Homecoming was really fun," Senior Natalie Shahrooz said. "The only thing I could do was get him while the play was going. But next time I've got to keep my head much more than I did tonight."Still, Clark agreed that the defense performed well, and believes that the Samo team is one to be reckoned with."If you show up on Friday against Santa Monica, you better be wearing your hat," Clark said.cwhorle@thesamohi.com
