ASB Study Hall aims to help students with final exams

First semester is coming to a close, and the pressure of finals is mounting. For this reason, the Associated Student Body (ASB) conducted its bi-annual two hour Study Hall in the bottom floor of the History Building. Study Hall began at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 15, and all students were welcome to attend.“Students [could] expect help for math, science, history and foreign languages,” Jacob Soroudi (’15), the Commissioner of Academics at ASB said. “Tutoring [was] either group or one- on-one depending on the [number] of students who attend[ed].”Teachers from various departments participated in helping students prepare for finals by providing the necessary resources for students to score high on their final exam.
“The event [was] generally successful and pretty consistent in its turnout,” Soroudi said. “Those who attend Study Hall are almost always happy they did.”Samo student Alexa Williams (’16) was excited to have the opportunity to receive help studying for her final exams, and to perform better on her finals, as a result.“Several people like to procrastinate during finals and this type of event helps them with their studying,” Williams said. “I feel that if I [attend study hall], I would be more likely to do well on my final and get an A [in the class].”fkhan@thesamohi
