Baseball wins against Lawndale in six inning

Boys baseball played a brief but close game on Thurs. March 30, against Lawndale High School. Samo continued their winning streak with an end score of 3-2. In the second inning, the Samo boys scored the first two runs of the game, and held their place on top. By scoring another run in the fourth, they placed the game at 3-0 until the fifth inning.The opposing team had one run in both the fifth and sixth innings but were no match against Samo. Pitcher Dax Speakman (’17) was proud of how the team performed in the game. “I think we fought hard and we got up to an early lead. [We] kept [our lead] and turned back when we needed to when they scored a run,” Speakman said. According to the team members, offense techniques led the way to a win along with a strong defense.“We’re all on the same page and we’re all behind each other. We never give up as a team,” Speakman said. “We fight as a team no matter what. We win as a team, lose as a team, but we do everything as a team.”
