Boys golf wins against West Torrance

On Mon. March 6, the boys golf team beat West Torrance High School by a score of 222-238 at the Rancho Park Golf Course. They were led by Sam Cockrell (’18) a score of 40 and Sam Nahass (’19) who had a score of 42.“The team was just out there having a good time with no pressure, which I believe is why were were able to win,” Jackson Hyde-White (’19) said.Although they were able to win this match, the team ended with a higher score than they would of liked. During winter practice they shot between 190 and 200 as a team.“[We’ll] need to play much better, especially from our top players. Their scores from Monday were much higher than their averages,” coach Bart Burdick said.In spite of not scoring as low as they would have liked to, the team is optimistic that they will have a better performance at their next match.“I have confidence in them, as they do from themselves that we’ll bounce back on Thursday. The goal is to get improving as we get ready for league matches in a few weeks,” Burdick said.
