Samo's winning streak continues against South Torrance

On Friday, Sept. 23, the momentum from last week's win against Dana Hills High School carried over as Samo beat South Torrance High School 53-3."Something we've been waiting for all year was a fast start,” head coach Ramsey Lambert said. “It always takes awhile for our gears to be turning, but we came out on the back, first play, touchdown."Samo started strong as wide receiver, Leo Reynoso (18), caught the ball and scored in the first quarter but it didn't stop there. In the same minute, South Torrance fumbled the ball and defensive back Isaac Gutierrez (’17) recovered the ball. Samo ended the second quarter leading by 25 points. According to cornerback Andrew Amaya (17), he intercepted the ball three times but he still thought he could have done more. “I thought I could have done better but it is what it is," Amaya said. Amaya intercepted the ball again in the third quarter, followed by a touchdown from running back Tony Holley (17). In addition, in the last 12 seconds of the third quarter, there was a buzzer beater touchdown from Holley. The touchdown ended the third quarter 46-3."[The game] was good, but I still think I could've done better," Holley said. "I still need to learn the plays more and I need to get better every time."Samo is always looking to improve and with their third victory in a row, it seems as though they have finally gotten into the rhythm.
