Swim team scores well in win over Culver
On Thursday, April 14, Samo’s swim team dominated in almost every event against the Culver City Centaurs at our very own Drake Pool. The Vikings won with a total score of 99 to 70.Starting with the boys 200-yard freestyle, with Xander Lee (’17) in first with a time of one minute and 55 seconds, Alex Trubnikov (’17) in second with a time of one minute and 56 seconds, and Matheus Cherminchinco (’17) in third with a time of two minutes and 21 seconds. Next up was the girls with Ocelli Rivers Altiri (’19) in first with a time of one minute and 59 seconds, Natalie Gold (’17) in second with a time of two minutes and 9 seconds, and Kelly Bartlett (’18) in third with a time of two minutes and 12 seconds.The next recorded event was the boys 200-yard individual medley with Kingman Lee (’18) in first with a time of two minutes and 12 seconds, and Kyle Schwartz (’16) in second with a time of two minutes and 20 seconds. In the girls 200-yard individual medley, Lauren Wong (’17) came in first with two minutes and 25 seconds, Kelly Cano (’17) came in second with a time of two minutes and 39 seconds, and Kalen Lehmann (’17) came in third with a time of two minutes and 47 seconds, but was disqualified due to not passing 15 meter mark.Next up, was the boys 50 yard freestyle with Kingman Lee (’18) in first with a time of 22 seconds, Ryan Keith in second with a time of 24.3 seconds, Alex Trubnikov (’17) in third with a time of 24.4 seconds, and Carlos Edward-Palmo (’17) in fourth with a time of 27 seconds. In the girls 50 yard freestyle with Amalie Luneng Solli (’17) in first with 25.59 seconds, Sophia Nahass (’17) in second with 25.92 seconds, Alely Gomez (’18) in third with 28 seconds, and Zoe Parcells (’17) in fourth with 31 seconds.The following event was the boys 100-yard butterfly with Colin Casey (’17) in first with a time of 56 seconds, Dustin Morris (’18) in second with a time of 59 seconds, and Kyle Schwartz (’17) in third with a time of one minute and three seconds. For the girls 100 yard butterfly Isabelle Siering (’17) in first with a time of one minute and three seconds, Alely Gomez (’18) in second with a time of one minute and ten seconds, and Morgan Gerlach (’17) in third with a time of one minute and 12 seconds.The next event was the boys 100-yard freestyle with Xander Lee (’17) in first with a time of 51 seconds, Reaph Whitebloom (’17) with a time of 52 seconds, Ryan Keith (’17) with a time of 53 seconds, and Matheus Cherminchinco (’17) in fourth with a time of one minute and five seconds. In the girls 100 yard freestyle Alysa Parungao (’17) with a time of 56 seconds, Audrey Hattori (’16) with a time of 59 seconds, Alissa Hattori (’19) with a time of one minute, and Zoe Parcells in fourth with a time of one minute and 13 seconds.The next event was the boys 500 yard freestyle with Richard Smith (’17) in first with a time of six minutes, Matthew Holt (’16) in second with a time of six minutes and one second, and Oliver Kablika (’16) in third with a time of six minutes and two seconds. In the girls 500 yard freestyle Ocelli Rivers Altiri (’18) came in first with a time of five minutes and 17 seconds, Isabelle Siering (’17) came in second with a time of five minutes and 18 seconds, Kelly Bartlett (’18) came in third with a time of five minutes and 55 seconds, and Kalen Lehmann (’17) came in fourth with a time of seven minutes and ten seconds.The next event was the boys 100-yard backstroke with Colin Casey (’17) in first with a time of 57 seconds, Ari Niknia (’17) in second with a time of one minute and 18 seconds, and Jacob Guyette (’16) in third with a time of one minute and 19 seconds. For the girls 100-yard backstroke Alysa Parungao (’18) came in first with a time of 57 seconds, Lauren Wong (’17) came in second with a time of one minute and four seconds, Makenna Dykstra (’18) came in third with a time of one minute and eight seconds, and Gretta Johnson came in fourth with a time of one minute and 26 seconds.The next event was the boys 100-yard breaststroke with Jacob Serrano (’16) in first with a time of one minute and 15 seconds, Reaph Whitebloom (’17) with a time of one minute and 17 seconds, and Carlos Edwards-Palmo (’17) in third with a time of one minute and 20 seconds.
