Boys volleyball gains a victory against El Segundo

Boys volleyball played an intense home game Tues., March 14, in the North Gym against El Segundo High School. The game, which started off as a close match between the two teams, ended in a clear victory for Samo. The first match ended in a close score of 21-25, with Samo shortly behind El Segundo. Samo had impressive stuff blocks and were very consistent with serving, but the other team managed to stay ahead of them for most of the game. The boys caught up in the second match, pulling a good five ahead since early on in the match. At some point during this game, Sam Wittert (’17) got five aces in a row. During the middle, Samo was 10 pts ahead; making way for an overall victory. Match two resulted in a far lead for Samo, the score being 25-9. The third, fourth and fifth games resembled the second match, with Samo taking the lead. Overall, the boys played with strong stamina, aiding to their notable victory.
