Boys volleyball wins first playoff game

On Tues. May 9, Boys volleyball triumphed in their first CIF playoff game against Millikan High School.  According to Coach Sato, the boys employed rigorous defensive  technique throughout the game.“We served tough and stayed focused on executing disciplined defense,” Sato said.Match one concluded with the Vikings ahead 25-16, and match two followed a similar pattern, ending with a score of 25-19. The remaining matches mirrored that of the preceding, with Samo in a significant lead throughout each match. “Millikan was a tough first round draw, but once we settled down we found our rhythm,” Sato saidTeam captains Sam Wittert (’17) and Rowdy Lennon (’17) played exceptionally strong roles in offense and defense according to Coach Sato. “Sam Wittert did an excellent job running the offense, and Rowdy Lennon passed and played phenomenal defense,” Sato said.The boys claimed victory yet again in their second playoff game on Thurs. May 11 against Pasadena High School.  “For the upcoming game, we needed to stay mentally tough and ready to play our game,” Sato said. “It was going to be a tough match but our team was ready to go,” Sato said.
