Belwood Bakery: restaurant review

I can’t remember a time where I haven’t gone to Belwood Bakery in Brentwood on Barrington. Its delicious baked goods were a special treat for me throughout all of middle school and still are today.Their turkey sandwich was, for me, a life changing experience. I am not usually a sandwich lover; I have difficulty with soggy lettuce and mediocre lunch meats. But Belwood’s home-baked ciabatta bread and masterful ratio of sandwich ingredients (I recommend adding avocado) has won over my heart. I’m waxing poetic about a sandwich, I know, but there’s something about it tastes more than the sum of its parts. They’re the perfect thing to pick up for a picnic or a fresh lunch. They have a wide variety of bread and pastries and dozens of types of macaroons. Another personal favorite of mine is their custard twist.Belwood Bakery is a hole in the wall and it looks like a tiny, unassuming place, but come in the morning on a school day and you’ll see lines stretching down the block. Its convenient location makes it a popular spot for students from all the local Brentwood schools. Their service is fast and friendly. While I wouldn’t eat there every day, its prices are reasonable.Belwood Bakery has always been a source of delicious food for me and it has a unique charm that I love. It completely merits its five star rating.
