baseball routs Beverly Hills with strong offense

Samo baseball beat their rivals, Beverly Hills High School, in a 5-1 victory on April 4. Ethan Doctor (’21) put on a formidable pitching performance, holding Beverly to just one run through the fifth inning. The boys built their lead and ultimately secured the win when Miles Gravell (’20) batted in two runs to widen their lead. Tristan Gallegos (’19) relieved Doctor and shut Beverly out in the final two innings. The team is currently 4-2 in the league, having beaten formidable opponents including Crespi Carmelite High School and Palos Verdes High School.   Captain Yoni Zeevi (’19) felt confident about the rest of the season ahead of them.  “We’re gaining momentum at the right time and are continuing to build our team chemistry,” Zeevi said. “Our seniors are doing a good job taking charge of the team and our bats are coming alive at the right time.”  The team has yet to face El Segundo High School or Lawndale High School, but they are looking to charge through the season and directly into the postseason.
