Samohi TV takes over the airwaves with Emmy-worthy first episode

Drizzy Drake, Staff Writer

Following the absolutely insane reaction to the Samo social media accounts @samohi.memes and @samohisleeps, all eyes are now on the account @samohitvshow. The show is run by future social media stars and Hollywood directors Vincent Thorpe (’22), Patrick Ware (’22), Rocco DeLeo (’22) and Felix Mardesich (’22). These four have achieved what could quite possibly be the next big reality tv show, competing with “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and maybe even, dare I say it,  “The Hype House show”.

While in this political climate it is hard to compete with the OG Samo culture accounts, @samohitvshow seems to already be ahead of the competition with a whopping 301 instagram followers! Launching the show during this tense period of time at Samo sure was a bold decision, with the extremely important ASB elections going on as well as the raging bee infestation. I can already imagine the ASB students screaming, shaking, crying on the floor after this.

The first episode of the show was released on a cold, windy Wednesday night on March 24, and my heart was immediately warmed up when I saw the man himself, Principal Antonio Shelton on my screen, looking dandy as ever. Though Shelton, neither the whole student body, might never recover from the embarrassment that was the “sussy baka” moment, I greatly appreciated the professionalism during the interview.

While the Nardwuar moment during the interview did bring a chuckle out of me, one concerning thing was the interviewee, Thorpe’s, fake British accent. I’m not sure if this man thought it was funny to fake an accent for a sketch, but it was quite frankly disrespectful and embarrassing. Using a “hip”, “ethnic” accent like the traditional English accent in a comedic manner is absolutely disgusting and should not be tolerated. #CancelVincentThorpe2022.

Another short but important feature in this episode was of Mr.D, the infamous security guard, keeping Samo safe from the paparazzi, day and night. I think it’d be comedic genius to do a whole episode on just Mr.D.

Speaking of the next episode, there have actually been claims made about the show getting picked up by a major tv network for the next two seasons. I heard from a friend (who is very real, but goes to another school so you wouldn’t know them, but they ARE real), that shooting for the next season will begin in May, so get ready Samo, any one of you guys could become the next big thing in Hollywood. Unless you are a freshman. Anyhow, there will be cameras in every classroom and a select group of students will be followed around all day long. All students MUST sign a contract, signing away their privacy, childhood AND birth parents (which will be transferred over to the Biden administration).
