Don’t play hard to get, play hard to forget

Ahh Valentine’s day; a day of love and pure romance. From chocolates to flowers, love is in the air! Not only is love in the air, but it’s on the court…and the field…and in the pool. It’s safe to say that athletes sure do love their romance.
Love undeniably runs through the basketball court from basket to basket. You know when you’re watching a basketball game and you see an opponent hold their arms up around the player with the ball? Well some may call that defense, but that’s what you call a big, fat basketball hug. Anytime a player has the ball, the opposing team tries to give them a hug to congratulate them on having possession of the ball! How sweet of them!
What’s more romantic than basketball? Water polo of course! Just like basketball players, water polo players like to give out big hugs too, especially when their opponent has the ball. Amidst the bluest of waters, they put their arms up, lean from side to side, and try to give out the biggest hug they can. I mean, pools are the best place for romance, aren’t they?
We can’t forget about track, the sport of high speed chasers, just running for love. Runners simply sprint as fast as they possibly can trying to reach the person in front of them. Huffing and puffing all the way through, they do it for love, and won’t stop until they reach them. Run, Samo, run!
Oh, and tackle football is the most romantic of them all. The players are practically hugging throughout the entire game! Running backs are the most loved of them all. I mean, their hugs are full of immense power and passion. The hugs are so strong it’s almost as if they’re getting tackled to the ground.
So this Valentine’s day, embrace your sport and don’t forget to show your teammates you love them!
