The World celebrated Earth Day on April 22 and it was great. The California Climate Change Exchange (CA-CCX) will be hosting a climate change forum as a project of The Church in Ocean Park. Speakers will include William Selby on climate change 101, Judy Abdo on the local electric grid, Kurt Holland on environmental education liberating youth and Diane Moss on best practices towards 100 percent renewables.When: May 18, 2014; Doors open at 12:30 p.m.Where: The Church in Ocean Park, 235 Hill St, Santa MonicaSanta Monica Festival: Celebrate the city of Santa Monica with a fun day of music, food, crafting and learning at the 23rd annual Santa Monica Festival at Clover Park. The festival will showcase sustainable living and culture through art workshops, music and dance performances, cooking demonstrations and fitness classes. Children will also be able to create a pop-up playground, allowing them to make their own worlds out of everyday items. The Family Bike Hub will also be offering bike safety checks, matinence tips and prizes.
