Softball season wrap up
After achieving the highest batting average of a single season, the Samo softball team has secured a spot in this season’s California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) after a record of 10-0 in Ocean League.

“I think towards the end of the season we were really gelling as a unit, and the good thing is that we have that same unit coming back so the girls know what it takes to get further in playoffs,” Skaggs said.
Girls' softball recovers from a rough offseason
In its preseason, girls’ softball faced its most challenging opponents. Currently, the team’s record is 1-7. Though their preseason has not been ideal, the girls have been playing against division one, two and three teams, while Samo is ranked in division four.
Spring sports take off: Softball
The girls’ varsity softball team had a Non-Conference game against El Segundo on Wednesday, Mar. 7, which they lost 6-0.

This year, Debbie Skaggs is returning to Samo to coach girls’ softball after a one year leave.
Samo softball bounces back after rough start
Last year’s CIF-winning softball team set the bar high for this year’s team. Although this year’s team consists of hardworking girls dedicated to improving their game, their opponents have been working diligently as well: Samo’s team currently holds a 3-8 record.
Softball looks to the future after losing five of six games
After losing five out of six games, including the home opener against South Torrance on March 11, and El Segundo on March 16, girls' softball is motivated to improve quickly.
