After training relentlessly throughout spring break, the Samo track team faced its most important meets of the season: League Prelims and Finals.

While track and field is a conglomerated title, the field division is often overlooked.

With the beginning of track season, runners, jumpers and throwers are getting pumped and coaches are getting ready watch their runners race, leap and throw.

Girls' track and field dominated the field in the first League meet of the season on Thursday, March 25 against Hawthorne High School.

Samo's track and field team triumphed in their season opener against Hawthorne, placing first in every event."It was kind of like a dress rehearsal," coach Tania Fischer said. "It was just our opener to work out the kinks to see if our relays are doing well."
