Girls' basketball loses to Culver City

I know that if we did some things better, we would've won. So, in the short term, it hurts," Coach Marty Verdugo said. "When we walk out of here, we'll try to grow from [the loss]. We'll let it go and we'll move on. It's just a game. It hurts a little bit, but we'll only let it hurt until tomorrow."The game started out strong but in the end Samo's defense did not suffice. By the fourth quarter, Samo was ten points behind Culver."As a team I think we played really well. [Culver City] is probably our top rival. I'm not disappointed with anybody, only myself," senior Moriah Mechlowitz said.Girls' basketball has another league game against Beverly Hills High School in the North Gym on Friday, Feb.3 at 6 pm"We're going t regroup and really try to win again on Friday night and honor our seniors who have dedicated four years of their lives to us," Verdugo said.smartins@thesamohi.com
