Boys' basketball defeats Dana Hills in third round CIF on Feb. 26

Francesca BillingtonStaff WriterBoys' basketball dominated in its third round of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) competition on Tuesday, Feb. 26, defeating Dana Hills High School 60-41.The team led 12-0 in the beginning of the game until Dana Hills caught up slightly to 12-6. That was the closest the two scores ever got to each other.Samo left half time leading 40-15, and the team ended the game on top with a score of 60-41.According to Jonah Mathews (’13), the team played excellently defense wise throughout the entire game.“We played great defense for most of the game. We kept our intensity high, and forced [Dana Hills] to turn it over a lot,” Mathews said.The fans have been very supportive to the team all season, especially during Tuesday’s game, according to Mathews.“The fans have been great,” Mathews saidfbillington@thesamohi.com
