Boys volleyball takes win against Culver City
Boys volleyball secured an impressive win on Thursday April 27, against Culver City High School at Senior Night, 2-1.The game was bittersweet for the seniors that will be graduating in June, but the boys were pleased to defeat their opponents on Senior Night. “We had control of the game from the beginning and didn’t look back,” Rowdy Lennon (’17) said.Although the team took a clean sweep against Culver and are content with the results, according to Zac Pittard (’17), the team always has room for improvement.“It went well; it was fun to work some different people into the lineup for senior night,” Pittard said. “We still need to work out some kinks but overall good win.”All but two matches concluded with Samo in a far lead, with the final match ultimately ending victorious.“We swept them in three for the last time our seniors would play at home,” Lennon said. According to Lennon and the rest of the team, this was a sentimental game. Parents walked their seniors across the court and received flowers and an applause. The boys will be moving on to CIF playoffs, and play in their first game on Tuesday night at seven against Millikan High School. They are hopeful for success in the final moments of their season.
