Samo narrowly loses against El Segundo

On Thurs. April 17, the Samo swim team lost to El Segundo High School. The score was quite close throughout most of the meet thanks to early wins by Samo swimmers. In fact, Samo was in the lead for a long time in the beginning. However, El Segundo was able to pick it up in the second half and rose to the lead.“It was a shame that we weren’t able to hang on to our lead, but I think we put up a good fight,” Sunny Selak (’18) said. “I hope we will be able to keep that up and be able to even do better in the upcoming meets.”Although Samo swimmers performed well, the loss can be attributed to El Segundo’s very solid team.“I was quite impressed with the performance of some of our swimmers who performed better than usual,” Nir Ribak (’18) said. “However, El Segundo brought a really solid team and they were hard to defeat.”Samo will compete in the finals on Friday, May 6, and hopes to prove the prowess of their swimmers.
