Track and field races to CIFs against El Segundo

This past Thurs. April 27, Samo’s track and field team put up a strong fight against the El Segundo High School Eagles. Throughout all the races, the team put their best-foot forward and started and ended strongly.Building on spring coach Paul Lupi’s goal for the team this season, the team continues to perform better and better with every race. The track team has been seeing their run times decrease with every event, which is what will give them the edge they need in the following meets. Kaylah Brown (’19) ran the mile and the 800, and was able to see a decrease in her times.“I love being able to shave even a second off of my times because my coaches and I see an improvement everytime that happens,” Brown said. Brighton Mills (’17) ran the 400 meter race, which is one lap ran in a sprint, loves achieving a personal record. “It’s just a great feeling being able to see that I ran even faster than I usually do,” Mills said. With the improvements to their times and preliminaries around the corner, the team is looking strong and hopes to take some athletes to CIF.
