Lil Pump is the youngest flexer of 2017

On Oct. 6, Lil Pump dropped his first major debut album. Lil Pump has made a name for himself like no other rapper of this generation. Whether you hate him or love him there is a high chance you’ve heard of Lil Pump’s music or antics. Lil Pump started as a Soundcloud rapper through which he reached fame and is now on the path to success as any other developed rapper in the game. Lil Pump’s Soundcloud hits such as “Boss”, “Molly” and “D Rose” have reached up to 42.2 million plays. Lil Pump is now taking his Soundcloud success to the big leagues with his new album. Lil Pump features frequent collaborator Smokepurpp, Lil Yachty, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Chief Keef and Rick Ross. Lil Pump’s album continues the vibe he started in the beginning of the summer of crazy hype and lyrics that when you hear it you genuinely think “how did he become famous?” Songs like “Smoke My Dope (feat. Smokepurpp)”, “What U Sayin’ (feat. Smokepurpp)” and “Crazy” show off the creative production team and Lil Pump’s simplistic lyrics still get you amped up. Lil Pump’s style repetition and ad-libs mid verse really shine in these three songs and are good additions to the album.Lil Pump also features many Georgia representatives in “Back (feat. Lil Yachty)”, “Youngest Flexer (feat. Gucci Mane)” and “Iced Out (feat. 2 Chainz)”. Lil Pump, unlike his big summer hits, actually has verses where he shows off his trappy-flow, especially “Back (feat. Lil Yachty)”. The song also is highlighted by Lil Yachty’s unique flow on a Lil Pump beat. However, in my opinion, “Youngest Flexer (feat. Gucci Mane),” is the best track on the project and features a production unmatched in any of the other songs. Not only does it have a fantastic production but has a chorus that I definitely see being yelled at the extremely crazy concerts Lil Pump has been known for. “Iced Out (feat. 2 Chainz),” a slower track on the project, has a bob-your-head type of beat, shows off Lil Pumps lyrics and is accompanied by a masterful 2 Chainz verse, like Lil Yachty’s is very interesting as it features a well known rapper dipping their feet in the unique Lil Pumps instrumentals. This song is not the best, but I think it is the dopest track on the project. “Whitney (feat. Chief Keef)” holds all the components the average Lil Pump fan looks for in his songs and features a rapper that was in a similar position as Lil Pump. Chief Keef, like Lil Pump, blew up in rap extremely young and was very different and heavier than most developed people in rap at the time. This collaboration shows a sign of young success and bridges one young breakout artist to another. Not only does the song have good context and history but is an absolute banger with a sinister and simple piano beat in the background making both Chief Keef and Lil Pump’s insane verses stand out. It also has Chief Keef ad-lib “Eshkeedit”, created by Lil Pump and Smokepurpp, meaning “let’s get it”, but Chief Keef says it is probably a top five ad-lib of all time. For being Lil Pump’s first major album this is definitely a great start and can have fans hoping for more.
