Girls tennis aces past Beverly Hills
On Tuesday, Oct. 17, Samo’s girls tennis crushed Beverly Hills on the court with a score of 13-5, bringing them one step closer to CIFs.Coach Winston Poon congratulated his team on their victory. However, he believes there is always room for improvement. “We played great,” Poon said. “Our singles stepped up and our doubles were stronger than ever. The girls seem to be peaking at the right time. We need to carry that moment, giving us the opportunity to be one step closer to winning league. Our doubles need to stay focused as they have been and we will have no problems.”Parker James (’19) is positive about their win and is excited to see her team work together as one. “I was very happy to have beaten Beverly Hills because our team has been working really hard in practice so it's great to see all of our effort pay off.” James said. “The match was extra exciting because all of my teammates who have suffered injuries this season had recovered, so our whole team was able to compete.” This win against Beverly has given the team hope that they will win many matches to come and encourages them to constantly improve in practice and bring their best game to the court.
