We were both printing at the library. You accidentally picked up my annotated bibliography, but as soon as our eyes met, I knew it wasn’t a coincidence. But alas, the lunch bell rang before we could even speak a word to each other. I’ll never forget how organized your annotated bibliography was or how beautiful your eyes were. If you feel the same meet me by the fiction section at 3:17 p.m. I grudgingly entered the cafeteria… on a Saturday. The depths of hell could not prepare me for Super Saturday: I was angry, tearful, resentful. Then I saw you. I was instantly drawn to your Calc BC textbook and your blue TI-84 calculator. The blue really made your eyes dazzle in the fluorescent cafeteria lights. I don’t know anything about you, but I’ve been racking up quite a few absences. You probably didn’t notice me and my TI-83, but if you did, I’ll be at the next Super Saturday waiting for YOU.  I was making my way down the hallway of the History Building, when suddenly, the melodic tone of Blueface came to an abrupt stop. Panic quickly ensued; I knew my beloved Airpods were gone. Despite the stampede of students beside me, I stopped to scour the floor in search of my most prized possession. My most prized possession, until I saw you. You miraculously spotted my Airpods, our hands brushed as you handed them back to me. If you also felt the explosive spark, meet me at lunch on Monday at our spot...you know where it is.  I was walking through the Innovation Building hallways, en route to the bathroom, when I saw a cloud of smoke appear by the boys’ bathroom. I was mesmerized. Suddenly, you emerged from the ominous smoke like an angel straight from the heavens. Before I could say anything, the fire alarm rang. It was too late. We both went our separate ways, but I haven’t been able to forget your Thrasher hoodie and lingering mango scent. If the same fire is burning in your heart, find me at the Michigan gate at 10:12 a.m. It was the pep rally of my dreams: “High School Musical” themed. Right when I thought things couldn’t get any better, you stepped on the Greek Stage amongst your navy t-shirted army. The music started and you began singing my favorite song, a classic, “Breaking Free.” I knew in my heart you were singing to me, and only me. There were 50 other voices, but yours transcended above the rest, not only to my ears but straight to my soaring heart. You are the music in me, if you want to be the Troy to my Gabriella get your head in the game and shoot your shot this Tuesday at the Greeks during lunch.
