Fall activities in Santa Monica and Los Angeles

Fall has arrived and, even though Santa Monica is still 80 degrees and sunny, it is time to break out your Uggs and oversized sweaters. Here is a guide to some seasonal fall festivities.  Creep Los AngelesCreep is a thrilling interactive show that lasts for 75 minutes. Groups of 25 are led through a nightmare-world brought to life. Performers guide groups through multiple surreal rooms in which they may be secretly taken away from their group by performers. Attendees may encounter terrifying one-on-one interactions that are sure to give them nightmares. Tickets are $89 per person and the show runs Sept. 27-Nov. 4 at 6:45 p.m. Creep is showing at the ROW DTLA at 777 S. Alameda St. Los Angeles.  Los Angeles Haunted HayrideThis long hayride through Griffith Park is sure to give riders goosebumps because of its monsters and ghouls. There is also a pitch black maze infested with maniacs and demons.  The event has a “scary-go-round” for younger children. Ticket prices vary and are $39 for normal entry and hayride, $50 for VIP and $30 for hayride only. The hayride will be open from Sept. 29-Oct. 28 Thursday-Sunday at 7:00 p.m.  The event takes place in Griffith Park at the Old Zoo.  Knott’s Scary FarmCreep through monster-filled mazes each with a different theme at Knott’s Scary Farm. A theme park transformed makes for one of the largest Halloween experiences in Southern California.  Frightening creatures lurk in every corner of the park: this event is sure to terrorize its subjects. Tickets are $95 and it runs Sept. 20-Oct. 31 Thursday-Sunday at 7:00 p.m. The venue is Knott’s Berry Farm and the address is 8039 Beach Blvd. Buena Park.  Halloween Horror NightsExperience some of the scariest TV shows and movies come to life at Universal Studios Horror Nights. The familiarity of the characters and scenes in these mazes and scare zones will intensify its effect and is sure to give participants a fright. Tickets vary from $60-97 depending on the day and it runs Sept. 14-Nov. 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood & Universal City Walk.  Underwood Family FarmsThis pumpkin patch is a rural, fun-filled event with many activities for the whole family to enjoy.  It includes a tractor-drawn wagon ride, corn maze, corn stalk labyrinth, pig races, an animal show, pumpkin house, pumpkin playhouse, live music and entertainment, access to Pick-Your-Own fields and Pumpkin Patch, Animal Center including Bee Barn, hay pyramids, Fun Hill, Kid's Corral, Farmer Craig's Chicken Show, Combine Slide and more. Ticket differ from $6-20 depending on the day and the farms run from Sept. 29-Oct. 31 between 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The farm is located at 3370 Sunset Valley Rd. Dia de los Muertos at Forever Hollywood CemeteryExperience a Mexican tradition/holiday when attending the lively festival amongst the dead.  There are many food vendors and traditional displays that celebrate the lives of ancestors who have passed away. Walk through the rows of family-created altars while listening to live music.  Get the full experience by dressing in costume. Entrance fee is $25 and the festival takes place on Oct. 27 from 12:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
