Track puts the 'gold' in blue and gold

Samo’s track and field team faced off against Mira Costa High School and West Torrance High School on Thursday, Feb. 28. The event was held at Samo’s own field, and Samo performed exceptionally in various categories. Samo’s varsity team came in first in a number of sections, thanks to many star athletes. Nicholas Faries (’19) came in first in boys varsity 400 meters, as well as first in the 4x400 relay. Other athletes scored Samo the win in the 200 meter (boys’ and girls’), boys discus, and girls triple jump. Samo’s Frosh/Sophomore teams also competed well, bringing home wins in many categories. Samo came in first in girls’s 100, 800, and 1,600 meters, as well as boys’ 110m and 300m hurdles. Samo athletes additionally got the gold in various other competitions, such as the triple jump and the high jump. Samo’s track and field team performed very well at this meet, and hopefully will only get better from here.
