Boys' tennis sets good tone for coming season

On Feb. 28, varsity boys’ tennis was victorious in their match against Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences. The final score of the match was 14-4. Tennis coach Wilston Poon thinks the team worked hard to find their rhythm in this preseason game. “We played great. We had a few hiccups in the beginning but overall dominated the match after that,” Poon said. The team has been doing all sorts of conditioning work, from working on hitting the ball to with accuracy to building endurance by running back and forth across the court, to prepare for a season of winning. This season they are trying to get the team to be more aggressive and proactive instead of being reactive. They are preparing for many wins over the season to make it to CIF.“We are hoping that if we can get our game on point by the tournament we can make a good push for CIF,” Poon said.
