Prom Food Review

Prom night on April 22 at Sofi Stadium’s Toyota Patio had a small variety of different foods for the special night for Samohi students celebrating with hundreds of other classmates. The general stadium food was an easy grab and go while at prom.

Once down in the Patio, dispensers of water and lemonade occupied tables. Among the drinks, were catered food including hotdogs, mini cheeseburger sliders, fried chicken sandwiches, chicken wings, and mini pizza slices. The dessert portion only featured chocolate chip cookies.

The hotdogs were cold and flavorless so I passed on those. However, the sliders, fried chicken sandwiches, the wings, and pizza slices were all super good. They warm, making them more enjoyable, making them my favorites. Also the chocolate chip cookies were the right chewiness. I had at least 6 cookies that night, they were that good.

Sage Douglass (’24) gives his opinion on the foods he liked at prom,

“I liked the food at prom, I think it consisted of more gourmet stadium food but I loved the Sliders, they hit the spot.”

Overall, the food at Sofi Stadium was pretty good. However, a major downfall was that all of it didn’t come out hot. Also, I think the event lacked food and drink because of the amount of variety. Instead of just having appetizer foods and a couple options to drink, there could have been an assortment of fountain drinks with bartenders making all sorts of concoctions and it would’ve been nice to have a full course dinner along with more dessert.  Further, paying upwards of 150 dollars for a ticket just to get a couple food options is a let down. Many students were expecting a full meal or simply more variety in dinner and dessert options.
