World of Barbie is the world our childhood dreams
"I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world," is exactly how I felt once I stepped into the World of Barbie on the Third Street Promenade. Not even one foot through the door and I was engulfed in pink: pink walls, pink paintings, pink doors, even all the workers were wearing pink! If the World of Barbie's purpose was to conjure up happiness and make you feel like you were, in fact, Barbie, they checked off all the boxes, making my childhood dreams come true.
The World of Barbie holds a virtual tour and a shopping center where you can live up to one hour in Barbie's life. I grew up with Barbie, so it was a dream come true! There are many rooms, including Barbie's dream house, her Camper Van, a museum of Barbies, a lab, interactive spaces, and more. It was absolutely a fantastic experience!
Although I'm not made of plastic, I felt just like a Barbie. As I walked into the dreamy pink closet, I felt eight again, staring at the luxurious purses through the tall glass doors wishing they were all mine. I relived my childhood innocence and the belief that anything pink was exciting and anything exciting was pink! As soon as I made eye contact with a little girl in a tutu staring at herself in a mirror saying to her mother, "Mommy, mommy, look, I can be just like Barbie," I knew then there that the World of Barbie did, in fact, make other people dreams come true as well.
The World of Barbie is a perfect time for kids and adults. Barbie is iconic and has such a profoundly enriching history. It was fun, educational, and inspiring, offering many diverse activities besides just touring the house.
I agree. So take your chance to be anything you want in the World of Barbie!
