Hotmail: SMMUSD Update #14452

Hawene Alomayehu, Staff Writer

Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff, Students and Community Members,

As you may recall, Malibu has submitted a petition to sever the long, strong relationship it has with the Santa Monica Unified School District. But, with Omicron and tsunamis on the uprising, this will be put on halt. Thus, communism has been on our side once again and leads the way to better health for all our students.

I would like to say a special Happy Belated Birthday to Shakira. Fun fact: Shakira’s hips do not lie. However, we cannot waka waka walk away from the rising COVID-19 cases. I think it is most important for our students to be vaccinated and undergo periodic testing.

Here’s an update on the COVID-19 cases at our schools:

Hopefully, families have thoroughly looked through this year’s Grammy nominations as I am ready to express my own opinion. Starting off strong, clearly Olivia Rodrigo will win Best New Artist, but I am hoping that “Kiss Me More” by Doja Cat will win Record Of The Year. Personally, I love to jam out to the song when I have nothing to do. In fact, SZA is my personal therapy. I live, eat and breathe SZA. Additionally, Silk Sonic better win something at the Grammys; Bruno Mars holds a special place in my heart and should in yours also.

Moving on to a more pressing matter, I understand that many students have been heavily burdened by the recent divorce of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Out of understanding of this, we are alleviating the COVID-19 contact tracing process. Along with the fact that test results have been pushed back!

These unprecedented times call for unprecedented decisions. So I ask students tonight, would you rather have hands for feet or feet for hands? Parents, these stimulus questions are essential to enriching children’s minds, but if they chose feet for hands then Samo is not for them! Please take the nearest exit out of the district! All love here from my office!

Signing off here,

Your beloved Dr. Drati
