After a semester of hard work in preparation for their season, Samo boys’ lacrosse is finally ready to put their efforts to work. During the fall semester of 2021, the team went back to regular practices after almost a year of not practicing. The team is in high spirits after starting in-person practices and finally, a new season.

Varsity player Luca De Lorenzo (’23) reflects on the past year of Zoom training.

“It feels really good to be back after such a long break. Honestly being on zoom and doing team workouts just wasn’t the same so to be back in person full time is such a great feeling for everyone on the team,” De Lorenzo said.

De Lorenzo has high expectations for this upcoming season, as does the team recently reinforced with new athletes that are expected to push the team to an even higher level than before.

“This season I think we honestly have a really solid team with some great new players so I think we are going to do very well. I hope to win a lot of games of course,” De Lorenzo said.

This season will definitely put the team’s hard work to the test. But with fresh new players, hard practice and a tight bond between players, the team has a high chance of winning. Their first game is scheduled to be on Feb. 25, against Palisades Charter High School.
