Coming out of last season 8-6, Samo’s girls lacrosse team is feeling excited about their upcoming games. They have been training very hard to get ready for the season, hoping their hard work pays off soon. Their season began Feb. 12 with their first away game against Hart High School.

Co-Captain Jessica Brown (’23) reflects on last season’s accomplishments and looks ahead to the upcoming season.

“Moving into my third season with Samo girls lacrosse, I am very excited to see all of our months of hard work be put into play. As a growing program, our team continues to accomplish more and more every year. From winning no games to making it to CIF in Spring 2021, I am so proud of how far Samo girls’ lacrosse has come. I feel very lucky to be part of a team of such dedicated and talented lacrosse players and I am confident that we will continue to break barriers this Spring 2022 season! Hope to see you there!” Brown said.

Co-captain Emma Brownrigg (’23), is also looking forward to the season and lead the team to CIF.

“I, along with my fellow captains and teammates, are beyond excited for our upcoming season and can’t wait to continue working hard both on and off the field!” Brownrigg said.

The season begins on Feb. 12 and games will occur multiple times a week after.

The girls’ first home game was an exciting 9-4 win on Thursday Feb. 17 against West Ranch High School. They were able to secure two early goals in the game from Ellenor Brandt (’23) and Kaya Schwartz (’23). Brown had an unfortunate second yellow card forcing her to leave the game but the team powered through resulting in a win. Overall, the team felt positive about the win and are looking forward to their games to come.

“As a team we are so happy about our recent win against West Ranch and are excited to bring this energy to our games to come,” Brownnrigg said.
