From Thanksgiving football games to nights spent on high school fields, football is a big part of Americans’ lives. Even if your family isn’t a big fan of football, the Super Bowl is a massive part of American culture. Since I was little, there would always be three parties each Super Bowl Sunday that I was dragged along to, even if I did not want to go. This year the Super Bowl is especially influential, as the game is being hosted in our home city of Los Angeles. Students from all around Samo gave their opinions on what team they are rooting for, and who they think will win the Super Bowl.
“I love the Patriots. I’m so sad that Tom Brady left, but that will make it more interesting and give the other teams a better chance, which they will need,” Ty Kushi (’22).
“The Arizona Cardinals will make the Super Bowl, I just know it. They run a great offense and have a very powerful defense. Honestly I'd be surprised if they didn’t make it,” Hank Foley (’23).
“My family grew up in Chicago, obviously I’m a Bears fan. I don’t know how they are doing this season, but no matter what I will support them,” Susan Slavonia (’22).
“I have always loved the Patriots, my dad loves them, so I was raised on them. In regards to the Super Bowl I have no idea who will win, but I hope it's a good game,” Luke Brock (’23).
“I am rooting for the San Francisco 49ers. When I started watching football like 10 years ago, Los Angeles didn’t have a team so I just started watching San Francisco, and I’ve kind of just been a fan since then, but sadly I think the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will win the Super Bowl,” Eli Meyuhas (’23).
“I love the Seahawks, my family grew up in Washington and went to college at Washington University, although they haven’t shown great improvement from last season, I do think they can get to the Super Bowl,” Zoe Haggart (’24).
