How athletes stay on that grind during the offseason
Student athletes are known to have a rigorous schedule throughout the year with daily practices that can go hours after school, conditioning and workouts. This keeps them in top condition during their season and while sometimes exhausting, ultimately is essential in their teams overall success. During the summer however, keeping this tight schedule can become difficult as many are traveling and the usual routine is disrupted. Most teams have summer practices in place, but to prepare for the upcoming seasons many athletes require more than a few hours of training. We asked some of the athletes at Samo how they plan to stay in their top condition over the summer, and some of their routines that set them up for a successful year.

“I need to stay in top shape for my sport (and the ladies) in order to maintain my impressive and rare physique. I will be attending summer practice everyday for 6 days a week. This will allow me to continue running at light speeds. I’m also on the bulk for more muscle. I’m gonna eat a lot of donuts, cake and protein. Additionally, I’m going to grow 6ft 3.
Sophie Christmas 23’, is on the girls varsity volleyball team at Samo, where she plays setter. She has been playing volleyball

Every individual has their own plan personalized to their sports and needs for the upcoming season. It is important for athletes to stay on top of their game even during off-season.
