Weekend Activities: Live This No. 1
This weekend, just like any other weekend, consists of Friday night, Saturday, Sunday and buckets of homework, but don’t let that discourage you! You can still make it exceptional, I promise. Instead of procrastinating on Facebook and getting lost inside the Internet's black hole, use the time you aren’t spending on school work doing something that will still stimulate your brain. On Friday if you’re interested in photography and dig rock and roll, go to the Annenberg Space for Photography (Century Park at 2000 Avenue of the Stars in Century City) and find out “Who Shot Rock and Roll.” The exhibit will be displaying iconic and unseen pictures of rock and roll stars, so make sure to go see it, and do so before 6 p.m. because that’s when the museum closes. If you’re feeling lazy and don’t want to go that far, go to the Aero Theatre (1328 Montana Avenue, Santa Monica) and get that quirky Euro mood going by watching Amelie at 7:30 p.m. in French with English subtitles. Can’t do anything on Friday? No worries, there’s still Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, if you’re a cartoon fan, check out the Chuck Jones Tribute Shorts Program at the Aero Theatre at 4 p.m. for a nostalgic afternoon featuring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote and many more of your childhood favorites. And on Sunday night, if you’re not exactly done with your homework, but don’t want to study all by your lonesome in your room, go down to 212 Pier (212 Pier Ave., Santa Monica) a jazzy café where you are welcome 24/7. Have a snack, order a coffee and pull that "healthy" all-nighter (if need be) in the company of unique people of all ages and walks of life. Whatever it is you choose to do this weekend, try to make it exceptional. For more information on these events, visithttp://www.annenbergspaceforphotography.org/exhibitions/current-exhibitionhttp://www.americancinemathequecalendar.com/aero_theatre_eventshttp://www.212pier.com/mazcarate@thesamohi.com
