Weekend Activities: Live This No. 6
Micol AzcarateStaff WriterIt’s that time of the year again. The Santa Ana winds are whistling, black crows prowl the streets and gloomy clouds cover the skies. Boo! It’s almost Halloween, and this weekend it’s time to be spooked out of your socks! Don’t be a scaredy cat, get your claws out and prepare for a weekend full of ghoulish good fun!Friday night, go to the Silent Movie Theater/Cinefamily (611 N Fairfax Avenue) at 7:30 p.m. for their famous Halloween party “Everything is Festival!” Be ready for some bloodcurdling clips from ‘90s TV shows, a Snap Yourself photo booth, lots of s’mores bars, a campfire and plenty of exciting activities. For a more interactive experience, check out “The Haunted Hayride” at Old Zoo/Griffith Park (4730 Crystal Springs Dr.) from seven p.m. until midnight. Explore the forest with a group of your friends or family and be ready for a spine-chilling night! Every step you take will lead you somewhere new, so be wise and work as a team to make it past the sinister woods.Saturday, go to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery from 12 p.m. to midnight for their annual “Dia De Los Muertos” celebration. You have an opportunity to be creative, so get out your face paint because it's time to “skeletonify” your face. If skeletons aren't your thing and you’re more of a “nocturnal creature" then be ready to test your courage from dusk to dawn at the Aero Theater’s (1328 Montana Avenue) seventh annual Horrorthon! This event will feature six horror films back-to-back, free food and many more surprises! And on Sunday, end the weekend with some "history" of scary movies. Go to the Egyptian Theater (6712 Hollywood Boulevard) at 7:30 p.m. and watch one of the greatest horror movies of all time, “Nosferatu." Despite being almost a hundred years old, this movie's twisted tale is still absolutely terrifying! Whatever it is you do this weekend, it's Halloween season so go out and add adventures to your goodie bag, but most importantly, have a spooktacular time!
