Girls' Volleyball loses to Culver, 3-0

Samo's Girls' Volleyball team suffered its first loss at home against Culver City High School on Wednesday, Oct. 30 with a score of 3-0.Win or lose, the last home game of every year is always an emotional one. Before the final home game of every volleyball season, the seniors are honored. Coach Liane Sato announced the senior girls' names as their parents escorted them across the court. Sato said a few words about each player and then the game began. Libero Ariana Nicol ('15) said she is sad to see the seniors go.

I will miss all the seniors, every single one of them has contributed something special to our team. The end of the season is always the hardest knowing you will never play again with some of your favorite people,” Nicol said.

The team lost its first match 15 to 25. Though the players hustled and worked together, they were unable to bridge the gap between scores that was made in the first few plays of the match.

The second and third matches were similar to the first, ending in a loss for Samo.

Daria Kim-Percy ('17) was disappointed by the team's loss, but thought that all of the players had worked hard.

"It was a tough loss but we did try hard and worked together as a team," Kim-Percy said.
