Samo boys lacrosse defeats St. Paul Bosco

On Wed., March 8, Samo boys lacrosse expanded their 4-0 record to 5-0 thanks to a 15-11 win against St. Paul Bosco High School.Samo got the first goal of the game but the opponents quickly came back. The first quarter was very even in terms of possession and samo was very unlucky, hitting the post three times. Finally, samo inched ahead thanks to goals by Parker Furlong (’17). The score at the end of the first quarter was 5-2.“We are just clicking,” Furlong (’17) said. “We are playing together, having a good time, and winning games. When one of us has a bad game everyone else can pick up the slack. The trust I have in the team makes it easy for me to thrive individually.”After an early goal, the beginning of the second quarter saw a heated one-on-one between Collin Ferrara (’17) and an opponent. Samo continued to assert their dominance by controlling the midfield and the offense and expanded their lead to 9-4 at halftime. However, the second half became more intense as St. Paul scored seven goals compared to Samo’s six.  Although Bosco were beginning to come back, Samo halted it with early goals in the 4th quarter. Samo rested on their early lead to impose themselves 15-11.Thanks to this win and a recent away win against Mira Costa, Samo is still undefeated and looks stronger than ever in league.
