Girls tennis owns the court against Archer

On Thursday, Sept. 21, Girls Tennis had a low-stakes but memorable win against Archer. The final score of the match was a close 10-8. Veronica Gerlach (’21) was impressed by the team’s performance on the court. She also described her team as showing great enthusiasm which she implied encouraged and motivated her teammates to snatch the win. “I think we performed well. We were very good at getting each other hyped-up and ready,” Gerlach said. Isabel Lewis (’19) also displayed pride in her team’s win on Thursday and thought that the win was a great note on which to conclude their pre-season. However, Lewis did express that through practice, they can continue to improve upon their skills on the court. “The team did really well in the match and it was a great end to our pre-season! [However], we can definitely continue working on our technique and skill. So far, we haven’t faced any obstacles and everything has been going well. We are excited to start season,” Lewis said.In the pre-season, Girls Tennis has been pitted against some challenging teams which have helped them develop the skill necessary to succeed this season. The girls are hoping their skills will carry them to becoming League Champions this year as well as making it far within CIFs.
