Naughty or nice- spot the fake Hallmark film

Kira Bretsky, Staff Writer

How well do you know your Hallmark movies? There’s certainly a formula to these holiday staples. Can you figure out the two real movies, and which one is made up?

A Boyfriend for Christmas

Holly is a lonely social worker when Santa Claus sends her a man named Douglas Firwood to be her boyfriend for Christmas. They realize that this isn’t the first time they’ve met; Holly helped Douglas and his sister find Santa at the mall when she was 13, the same year that she first asked Santa for a boyfriend. When she finds out that Douglas is actually the opposing lawyer in her current legal case, she breaks up with him, but there’s nothing a little persuasion from Santa himself can’t fix.

A Christmas Musical Miracle

Mary leaves the big city to visit her parents for Christmas, where the town puts on a big holiday musical with the children of the school. She runs into Chris, the stage manager and her childhood best friend, and they sit in a tree to watch the musical together. When she falls onto the stage in the middle of the performance, it takes a hero (or maybe a miracle) to save her life.

A Very Merry Mix Up

Alice crashes into Matt’s car as she’s leaving the airport to meet her fiance’s family for the first time, and she assumes that Matt is her fiance’s brother because they have the same last name. But when Alice realizes that she’s been spending Christmas with the wrong family, she’s sad to say goodbye. After some time with her fiance’s real family, Alice finally understands the true meaning of Christmas and where she really belongs.
