Track and Field season wrap up
After a busy preseason and a successful season, Samo’s boys and girls track teams went undefeated in league, earning them the title of Ocean League Champions. With the addition of new coach Krishna Curry and new workouts, this year’s team has set new standards for the future of the program and has added to the reputation of the Samo track program throughout southern California.

The Samo Vikings were victorious over the Leuzinger Olympians 35-0 on Friday at SMC, starting off their season undefeated.

As if creating and editing their own individual projects weren’t time consuming enough, the members of the program must also organize and shape the festival; this includes publicizing the event, communicating with local businesses, working non-stop on the day of the festival and producing an introduction video that corresponds with this year’s theme, German Expressionism. Prominent in the early 20th century, German expressionism is over-the-top and unnatural, utilizing bizarre angles and techniques.
New faces of Samo ASB at work
As the 2010-2011 school year comes to a close, and Samo seniors say their goodbyes, a wave of fresh new faces takes on leadership roles at 601 Pico Blvd. The newly elected ASB cabinet of 2011-2012 has many ideas to improve Samo and make next year the most spirited year in the school’s history.
Remembering a legend: Elizabeth Taylor (1932 – 2011)
There were fewer actresses that embodied Hollywood more than Elizabeth Taylor. She had the beauty of Scarlett Johansson and the dramatic screen presence of Meryl Streep; before there was Brad and Angelina, there was Dickie and Liz. Sadly, on March 23, one of the last remaining stars from the golden era of cinema left us — and boy, what a legacy she left behind.
