Introducing the new House Principals: O-House

Samo introduced four new house principals this year, among whom is Kelly Tabis, a former teacher at Samo, who filled the position of O-House principal.

Tabis has spent the last five years at Beverly Hills High School as an assistant principal and before that as a teacher at Samo for three years. She also served as chair for the special education department. Tabis states that as with all new jobs, her and the other house principals do face a learning curve. Tabis also says that the staff and students have been very welcoming, which has eased the transition.

“It certainly feels like a homecoming for me. I really enjoyed my time teaching here and it’s a very special thing to be able to come back and be a part of [Samo] again,” Tabis said.

According to Tabis, she is excited to re-join the Samo community, especially the teachers and students of O-House. O-House is starting the year off with two house related events where students can socialize and meet their new house principal.

Tabis said she is looking forward to being a part of the Samo team and working with the rest of the administration and the teachers.
