Girls' water polo beats El Dorado, 6-3
On Feb. 20, girls' water polo defeated its first opponents in California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) playoffs, El Dorado, with a score of 6-3.
Girls' Waterpolo beats Culver City High, 4-3
Girls’ Waterpolo beat Culver City High School 4-3 on Tues., Jan. 12. At the half, Samo was down 1-2 but came out strong, fighting to beat Culver City in those last minutes.
Wrestling members fight for varsity spots at Valhalla Madness
Samo’s wrestling varsity members were chosen during the first publicized Inter-squad Wrestling Championships, or Valhalla Madness, on Nov. 15.

The Greenies met their match on Wednesday, Oct. 17 when the boys' water polo team played El Segundo High School, its longtime rival and competitor in Ocean League. Though the game ended with an ultimate victory of 14-10, the boys needed to maintain the same momentum that they started the game with in order to ensure a win.

As pressure and intensity increase, the boys’ water polo team continues to power its way past competitors as they find themselves well in reach of the League Champion title. Though for their hopes to become reality, each player realizes that better defensive playing becomes more crucial each match.
Greenies find early success
“Last year we had better cohesiveness, but this year we’re having more fun. I think we’re positioning ourselves well for our league drive, which starts in October,” coach Matthew Flanders said. “We could have won those games, but we were having problems with over-aggressive players.”
