Boys' Golf wrap up
In golf, consistency is just as crucial as skill. Even the most celebrated golfers in the world understand that if their performance doesn’t remain stable, they’ll suffer on the course. And unfortunately for Samo’s boys’ golf team, a range of inconsistencies kept them from the success they long coveted.

Boys' Basketball loses to Beverly Hills High School, 58-45
On senior night Feb. 7, the Samo Vikings took on the Beverly Normans, and conceded in a loss of 58-45 as their past four game winning streak came to an end.

Player to watch: Jonah Mathews
It was the appearance of the 6’0” freshman with the long arms that helped him earn a spot on the boys’ varsity basketball team. However, it was his smart and fast style of play that helped Jonah Mathews (’16) become a key point guard, shooting guard and leader on the team.

Player to watch: Imanni Maxwell
The roaring crowds, buzzers, whistles and swishes drive basketball players. Starting her journey at just the age of six, captain of the girls’ varsity basketball team Imanni Maxwell (’15) is continuing to make achievements in her passion.


Player to watch: Angelina Hwang
The game of golf is a patient, strategic and mental challenge. Sometimes, someone can pick up a golf club and fall in love. Angelina Hwang (’14) did just that and is a top member of the girls’ golf team as a result.

Samo boys’ basketball defeated Mission Hills High School in the third round of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), the quarterfinals, 51-33 on Tuesday, March, 12.

Girls' golf defeated by Marlborough on Oct. 9
The girls' golf team played Malborough on Tuesday, Oct. 9 and lost 291-231, which is an improvement from its previous scores. According to junior Angelina Hwang, the team keeps improving. Last week's match, which was against Beverly, was also a loss, but showed promise for the rest of the season.
Girls' golf begins season 0-1
Girls' golf lost its first game of the season to Palos Verdes 320 - 167 on Tuesday, Sept. 11. The newly formed team consists of six Samo golfers who have been playing anywhere from two weeks to nine years.
Golf places second in Ocean League and begins preparation for CIF
Closing its league season with an overall record 8-2, the Samo golf team is set to continue into the California Interscholastic Federation tournament [CIF] playoffs for both individual and team matches.
